Volunteering at Hands-on
House is a great way for teens to gain valuable work experience,
learn responsibility, work with young children, make new friends and give
something back to their community while having fun. It’s also a terrific way
to earn service learning credit for school, church or scouting.
Volunteers must be in the
8th grade (or older) for the 2010-2011 school year. Volunteers
attend a two-hour orientation session and are expected to volunteer a
minimum of 20 hours over the summer months.
Summer teen volunteers
participate as camp aides for Summertime Station, our special summer camp
program for children ages 4-7. Camp aides work directly with the young
campers, assisting with projects and activities while having great fun!
Volunteer shifts are 8:30am – 12:30pm, Monday through Friday. Volunteers are
asked to commit to one or more full weeks.
We currently have
enough teen volunteers for the summer of 2010. If you fill out the
volunteer application form, we will send you
information in the spring of 2011 for next summer.
For more information, contact
Jessica Martin at (717) 569-KIDS or complete and return the
volunteer application form.
