Story Stretchers

Come read a story with us and stretch the learning through a guided, hands-on activity! Each activity ties directly into that day's book and encourages a love of literacy by bringing the pages to life!

Join us for class on Tuesdays at 10am or 11:30am

All ages welcome

Art Class

Art classes at Hands-on House explore a variety of techniques and mediums all while encouraging budding artists to find their own style! Our creations are inspired by art history, seasonal shifts, and often tie back to our monthly Play Lab theme.

Join us for class on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, at 10:45 am and 1pm

Designed for ages: 3-10

STEM  Explorers

STEM Explorers will focus on hands-on learning around subjects like science, technology, engineering, and math. Kids will actively investigate, experiment, and problem solve in this class as they learn STEM Habits of Mind that encourage creativity and discovery. Each class will include learning time, a hands-on activity, and guided play in the Play Lab.

Join us for class on Thursday's at 10am and 11:30am

Designed for ages: 3-6

Camps we offer:

Summer Camp

Week-long sessions covering a variety of STEM themes from June-August. We offer 2 versions of camp for ages 4-7 and 6-10. A limited number of scholarships are available for SNAP members.

Winter Camp

A STEM experience for campers ages 6-10 held during winter break. A limited number of scholarships are available for SNAP members.

Group and School programs

Outreach

Let’s bring the museum to your school or organization! We offer a variety of K-3 programs designed to be presented to a single class rather than a whole group assembly (this allows for more hands-on and focused engagement).

We travel to Lancaster and surrounding counties.

Scouting Badges

Our museum educators lead fun, interactive art workshops for Girl Scouts of the USA Daisies and Brownies, and Boy Scouts of America Webelos. We will complete the badge of your choosing during your visit. The only thing you need to do is have an art exhibit or show & tell at a meeting after your program, and purchase badges for your scouts.

Thank you to our generous sponsors!
